THE QUESTION

Who the Fuck Is Tim?

You came here for answers. That was your first mistake.

THE TIM THING

I’m told all the time that sometimes the biggest thing you can do is just show up.

I’ll be the first one to tell you: there have been times when I didn’t.

There have been days when life got heavy, my head wasn’t right, things were happening in my personal life, and showing up felt like the last thing I wanted to do. I’ve screwed up. I’ve made bad decisions. I’ve created some of my own problems. Hell, I’ve created some of my own damn drama too.

But when I do show up, I keep going.

That’s really where this whole thing comes from.

I’d be working, tired, frustrated, dealing with whatever was happening outside of work, and somewhere in the middle of it I’d hear somebody yell, “LET’S GO!”

And because apparently “Let’s go” wasn’t dramatic enough for me, I threw the fucking in there.

LET’S FUCKING GO.

That’s me. I’m pretty fucking dramatic. I live for it.

Somewhere along the way it stopped being just something funny to yell. It became the thing I kept saying when I was exhausted, irritated, pissed off, discouraged, or convinced I was having the worst day ever. It became a way of saying, “Fine. This sucks. I’m still moving.”

And believe me, there have been plenty of times I’ve needed that.

I’ve been put down. I’ve been told I could’ve done better. I’ve been told what I did wasn’t enough. I’ve had moments where I knew I screwed something up, and other moments where I felt like nothing I did was ever going to be good enough anyway.

I’m not going to pretend I handle every one of those moments perfectly. I don’t. Sometimes I get mad. Sometimes I take things personally. Sometimes I make the situation worse before I make it better. Sometimes the drama is absolutely my own creation.

But I keep going.

That’s the part that matters.

LFG TIM was never supposed to be some polished motivational slogan from somebody pretending they have life figured out. I definitely do not have life figured out.

It’s almost the opposite.

It’s for the person who is still a mess and keeps moving anyway.

It’s for the person who showed up late but still showed up. The person who had a terrible week and still went back Monday morning. The person who got told they weren’t good enough and decided to keep trying. The person who screwed something up, owned it, and went back to work.

It’s not about pretending everything is great.

Sometimes everything is absolutely not great.

Sometimes you’re pissed off. Sometimes you’re tired. Sometimes you’re dealing with things nobody around you even knows about. Sometimes you’re your own biggest problem.

You can still move.

You can still show up.

And if you didn’t show up yesterday? Show up today.

That’s what “The Tim Thing” really is.

Tim isn’t supposed to be some perfect guy you should try to be like. Tim is the guy who has his own bullshit, his own flaws, his own bad days, and his own drama — and still finds a way to say:

LET’S FUCKING GO.

Maybe Tim is your friend who gets you moving when you want to quit.

Maybe Tim is the voice in your head telling you to get your ass up.

Maybe some days, you’re Tim.

You don’t have to know me. You don’t have to have everything together. You don’t even have to be having a good day.

You just have to keep going.
